OpenAI launches a free learning community to help you become stronger quietly

Explore the new world of AI, OpenAI Academy allows you to learn for free and improve quickly!
Core content:
1. OpenAI Academy provides free AI learning resources, covering multiple application scenarios
2. Combining live classes with recorded classes, flexible learning, suitable for fragmented time
3. Course content ranges from basic to advanced, helping to improve work and study efficiency
Seize the opportunities of AI, start by learning relevant knowledge and skills, use AI efficiently, and open up unlimited possibilities.
This is the official slogan of OpenAI Academy.
On the evening of April 2, OpenAI quietly opened its own AI school, called OpenAI Academy . This was not advertised much, but it was launched online directly, and you can register now. All the courses in it are free. Interested friends can click the link to register and take a look.
I recommend using Gmail to log in with one click. It’s very convenient and only requires a simple verification.
The interface is very simple, with two main classification methods.
The first is to divide it by "events", putting together the key stages of things, activities, and projects that happened in the past.
The second is to divide by "content", which is to package related courses into collections. I looked and found that there are now 5 collections, namely: ChatGPT in Campus, ChatGPT at Work, Sora Tutorial, Artificial Intelligence for K-12 Educators, and Courses for Developers.
As the name suggests, these courses are designed for different scenarios.
There are two types of courses: live courses and recorded courses. Live courses are divided into online and offline. Online live courses will be marked with "Livestream". If you are interested, you can register by clicking "Register".
After successful registration, there will be a countdown reminder and you will also receive an email with a course calendar; if it is marked “ In-Person ”, it means it is an offline class and you have to attend in person.
Compared with live courses, recorded courses are more flexible and can be watched at any time. When I wrote this article, the platform already had 33 recorded courses. I was more interested in work-related courses, so I clicked on "ChatGPT at Work".
The courses here are quite comprehensive, ranging from basic to advanced. For example: the most basic GPT introduction, how to use GPT for data analysis, prompt word skills, and even how to use GPT for search, multi-modal interpretation, etc.
The videos are as short as 5 minutes and as long as 10 minutes, which is very suitable for learning in fragmented time. However, I found that not many people know about the platform. I clicked on a course called "Cue Word Skills" and it only had 13.8k views.
For domestic users, these courses are not very friendly, because they are all in English and there are no Chinese subtitles. But don't worry, you can use some translation plug-ins, such as "Immersive Translation" or "elmo chat". I tried it and it's quite easy to understand.
The course quality is pretty good, "ChatGPT 101, Your Super Assistant Guide", which explains in detail how to use AI to improve work efficiency and how to find useful information from ChatGPT.
There is also a 50-minute webinar called "Using Artificial Intelligence to Do Your Best". I summarized it using elmo chat. It mainly talks about how to use AI to improve work efficiency, how to use AI as a personal assistant, and AI applications in teamwork, with some cases.
In the campus ChatGPT section, there is an introduction to ChatGPT Edu.
Simply put, it is a tool that uses AI to assist learning and education, providing teachers and students with a very convenient way to use AI to help learning and teaching.
My personal feeling is that the content of the recorded courses is relatively basic and clearly explained, and can be used as courseware or training materials, while the live courses will have some more advanced content.
For example, there is a live class on April 8th, which talks about "Automating RAG Knowledge Graph: Building GraphRAG with OpenAI API".
This class may talk about RAG (retrieval augmented generation) technology and how to establish connections between information through knowledge graphs, so that AI's answers are more accurate and detailed, and more useful information can be extracted from the data.
You don’t have to listen to every class. Let AI summarize it for you first to see which ones are helpful to you, and then decide whether to listen to it.
AI is becoming more and more popular now, so it is definitely a good idea to learn how to use it. It is a very powerful tool. Once you master it, you can improve your efficiency and let it do your work for you. How great!
