AI agents are a major leap forward from traditional automation tools or chatbots. They can execute complex workflows, covering the entire process of planning research, generating and validating innovative ideas, etc. However, to achieve large-scale application, enterprises need to build an AI-ready information ecosystem that can cross data silos, and at the same time, they need a simple way to create and adopt agents, as well as meet enterprise-level security and compliance requirements.

To this end, we launched Google Agentspace in December last year. This product puts Google's latest foundational models, powerful agents, and actionable enterprise knowledge directly into the hands of employees. Through Agentspace, employees and agents can retrieve information across organizations, use Gemini multimodal intelligence for comprehensive understanding, and take action through AI agents.

Since launch, we’ve seen strong interest in Agentspace from leading organizations such as Banco BV, Cohesity, Gordon Food Services, KPMG, Rubrik, Wells Fargo, and more. We’re accelerating this momentum by expanding the general availability of Agentspace, now available through a permission list, to make it even easier to create and use agents. Starting today, customers can:

  • Direct access to unified enterprise search, analytics and integration capabilities through the Chrome browser search box

  • Quickly create agents with the new no-code agent designer, and easily discover and adopt them with the agent library

  • Deploy new intelligent agents such as deep research and idea generation built by Google to help employees verify business ideas, integrate dense information, etc.

" We recently began rolling out Google Agentspace to our US employees with the goal of making enterprise intelligence more accessible to them," said Matt Jansen, manager of emerging technologies at Gordon Food Services. "This deployment has transformed how we access enterprise knowledge across platforms such as Google Workspace and ServiceNow. Employees benefit from faster information discovery with unified search, which translates into better decisions and less information mining. Ultimately, Agentspace will enhance our internal operations and product development capabilities, helping to improve customer service. "

Unified intelligent search: Chrome search box directly reaches imagination. It can easily retrieve any form of text, images, websites, audio and video information within the organization with a Google-level search experience. This is exactly the AI multimodal search capability that Agentspace brings to enterprises, helping users to break through the limitations of storage location and form to obtain the required information. Whether the information exists in applications such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or in online content, Agentspace can break down silos and understand the organizational context. By building an enterprise knowledge graph for each customer - connecting employees with their teams, creating documents, and accessing resources such as software data - it transforms fragmented content into actionable knowledge.

Starting today in preview, Agentspace is integrated with Chrome Enterprise, allowing employees to use unified search capabilities directly through the Chrome search box. Embedding Agentspace into Chrome helps employees find data resources securely and conveniently in their existing workflows.

Google Agentspace enables employees of all technical backgrounds to access specialized agents that connect to a variety of enterprise systems and easily integrate them into their workflows. We are launching two new features to accelerate the adoption and creation of agents:

The agent library, which is open through a permission list, provides a unified view of the agents available within the enterprise, covering agents developed by Google, internal teams, and partners, greatly simplifying the discovery and use process. Customers can purchase agents released by partners from the Google Cloud Marketplace and enable them in the library to enrich the ecosystem options.

The Agent Designer (permissioned) is a no-code interface that allows you to create custom agents that connect to enterprise data sources to automate or augment everyday knowledge work tasks. The tool enables employees with limited technical experience to build agents that fit their workflows. Thanks to deep product integration, the designer complements the Vertex AI Agent Builder developer tool, which builds agents that can be published to Agentspace.

New professional-grade agents: idea generation and deep research With the launch of the agent library, two Google-built expert agents will be added to the enterprise version of NotebookLM:

  • The Deep Research Agent, which is open through a permission list, can explore complex topics on behalf of employees, integrate internal and external sources of information to generate easy-to-read comprehensive reports, all with just one command. The preview version of the Idea Generation Agent (requires a permission list) helps employees independently develop and select the best innovation solutions in any field through a competitive evaluation system inspired by the scientific method.

  • In addition to expert agents, Agentspace supports the new open Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, which is designed to enable interoperability of agents across the ecosystem. As the first cloud vendor to drive this industry initiative, we believe that this protocol will be critical to multi-agent collaboration by providing a common interaction language - regardless of the framework or vendor the agent is built on - giving developers the freedom to choose the right tools.

Enterprise-grade data protection and securityAgentspace is built on Google's security infrastructure, which is trusted by billions of users. It is enterprise-ready, always keeping core requirements such as security monitoring at the forefront when agents collaborate with employees and access corporate data.

Customers can scan the system for sensitive information (such as protected health information PHI, personally identifiable information PII or confidential data) and choose whether to block agents and searches from accessing these assets. The product also provides role-based access control, customer-managed key encryption, data residency assurance and other features.

We are also expanding the AI Agent Marketplace, a dedicated section in Google Cloud Marketplace. Customers can easily browse and purchase AI agents from partners such as Accenture and Deloitte. Enterprise administrators can incorporate these agents into Agentspace to improve productivity and innovation. The growing number of options allows every employee to build and manage their own team of agents, and we look forward to seeing more innovations in the coming months.
